Okay everyone, I have something I must confess...I LOVE OUTREACH! Truly, I do. It's been so great to go out into the community and meet new people, talk about what the library has to offer, and especially do storytime!
So on June 15, Miss Maddy and I went to a local preschool and did 6 storytimes all together. She had 3 groups in the morning, and I had 3 groups in the afternoon. I made a general plan I wanted to follow, but mixed it up depending on the group and their attention spans, especially since I had the groups immediately following lunch.

I also talked about our Summer Reading Program (Read to the Rhythm!) and made sure to invite all the kiddos to the library for different programs. I realize I do a lot of similar things during my storytimes, including a lot of repetition, but the kids really enjoyed themselves and I even recognized a few faces--which is always great!
I'm definitely hoping to continue outreach throughout the summer and into the Fall!
