On December 30th (New Years Eve's Eve) I threw a Noon Years Eve party for all the little ones at my library!
I decided to have it from 10am to 12pm. My normal Wednesday storytime is from 10am-11am, so in planning it at that time, I hoped to get a lot of my storytime kiddos involved as well! Also, another thing I made sure to remember was that even though I was making a plan, ANYTHING could happen. I expected this event to be organized chaos! And it was!
From 10am-1045am I did a normal storytime. I decided not to do any sort of theme, and just picked newer books that I hadn't read in storytime before. (Below is the rough plan of what I did for storytime.)

After storytime, bubbles, and dancing, we made crafts! I supplied coloring sheets with markers, crayons, and colored pencils, and we also decorated our New Years Crowns, because obviously we are all royalty!
Following crafts, I was really lucky and fortunate to be able to serve lunch to all of the children and adults who took part in our celebration! We ordered pizza, had juice boxes, and cookies. I scheduled our pizza to come at 11:30, but unfortunately the driver's car wouldn't start, so we decided to do our countdown a little bit earlier (at 11:30), and then we did some more dancing, and nommed on some pizza!
With all the excitement and commotion going on, I only was able to get a rough count of the kids and adults that were there, but I had at least 60 participants! Overall, I'm so happy with how it turned out, and I think everyone else was too!
(Special Shoutout to all my coworkers who helped make this event run as smoothly as possible! And SPECIAL SPECIAL shoutout to my coworker Donell for making the AMAZING balloon drop that we had!)
