Good afternoon, everyone!
I had picnic stories storytime this week, and we talked about outer-space! I chose this theme because of NASA's Juno space probe arriving at Jupiter -- and because outerspace is awesome. I had some books and songs picked out, but since this is a drop-in storytime, I quickly learned that I had 7 babies and 2 toddlers, so I had to do a quick switcheroo with some of my books!

I also used a planets flannel board that I had previously made, and had originally gotten the idea from Miss Meg (who is amazing and awesome, btw!) Since I had mostly babies, I just counted out how many planets we had, and also talked about the names of the planets, and talked about Pluto now being a dwarf planet!
We also sang and did the motions to "Zoom Zoom Zoom" from Jbrary!
Zoom Zoom Zoom
Zoom, zoom, zoom
We're going to the moon.
Zoom, zoom, zoom
We're going to the moon.
If you want to take a trip
climb aboard my rocket ship.

Blast off!

This turned out to be a really nice storytime and all the babies/toddlers seemed to have a good time as well!
Along with my outer space storytime, I made a new outer space display, and the books have been flying off the shelves, which feels GREAT! :)
