Doing a "Colors" storytime never fails, because kids LOVE colors and they LOVE to tell you their favorite colors! I'm starting to get in a good rhythm of how I start and finish my storytime, with the middle parts changing every week. The kids like the repetition and will ask me when I'm going to do a certain song or dance, so as long as they are enjoying themselves, I will continue to do the things I know they like!
Favorite books this week were Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, because they ALL know the song by now! And also the Dogs Colorful Day flannel board. I had a ton of kids this week so not everyone was able to participate in the flannel board portion, but they all were really good at taking turns putting dots on dog, and shouting out the different colors.
All in all, a solid storytime!
